In some devastating news for romantics everywhere, Lady Gaga has confirmed her and fiancé Christian Carino have split.
Reps of Gaga’s confirmed to PEOPLE magazine that rumours the pair had parted ways were indeed true.
A source told PEOPLE that there are no scandalous details surrounding the split: “It just didn’t work out.”
The source added: “Relationships sometimes end. There’s no long dramatic story.”
Speculation of a breakup first began when Lady Gaga attended the Grammy Awards on February 10 solo, with her giant engagement ring noticeably absent.
Fans grew even more concerned of a split when Gaga didn’t thank Carino in her acceptance speech after her song “Shallow” won the best pop duo or group performance prize.
Lady Gaga and Carino first started dating in February 2017, and the singer announced her engagement to the talent manager at Elle’s 25th Annual Women in Hollywood Celebration on October 2018.
Honoree of the evening Gaga revealed her engagement by thanking “my fiancé Christian” during her speech.
