After an epic 34-year-romance, Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn are set to split.
In a break-up bombshell that has all of Hollywood talking, it’s emerged that the pair have been living separate lives for months after being torn apart by years of raging jealousy, secret affair scandals and non-stop fights.
Now friends fear that Kurt, 66, and Goldie, 71, could be staring down the barrel of a $160 million split – ending what’s long been regarded as Hollywood’s strongest couple.
‘They still love each other, but they need their own space,’ a source tells the National Enquirer. ‘They’ve thought about splitting…but they’re spending some time apart and seeing how it goes.’
Sources reveal the couple are living in separate wings of their recently built mansion in Brentwood, California, and are choosing to spend as much time apart as possible.
‘They each have their own bedroom, bathroom and living area, but still share a kitchen,’ the source says. ‘When people come over to visit, they have no idea. Goldie and Kurt are essentially just roommates now. They still bicker all the time, but at least they can retreat to their own areas of the house afterwards.’
The pair met and fell in love while filming Swing Shift in 1983, but their relationship has long been ravaged by Kurt’s jealousy and rumours of secret affairs. It’s claimed Goldie has always had a place in her heart for her ex-lover Bruno Wintzell, who dated the actress for two years from 1973 and died after a battle with cancer in 2002.
But while Goldie’s close relationship with Bruno has long been a source of contention with Kurt, it seems his wandering eye has also caused blow-ups.
‘They got into blazing arguments about Kurt’s affairs, and he would always turn the tables on Goldie and bring up Bruno,’ says the source. ‘That only made her angrier!’
