If she’s got a self-doubting bone in her body, Keira Maguire may be regretting the day she led anyone to believe she’s good mates with model Kris Smith, after the star made it clear to camp mates and viewers alike that they barely know each other.
After entering the show as a late intruder, Keira seemingly wanted other jungle inmates to know that she already had an established relationship with Kris, boasting, ‘I know Kris. We see each other all the time.’
But Kris soon clarified that he has a very different take on the situation.
‘We used to live in a similar suburb — a friend of mine owns a bar and I’d always go down and have a drink. She introduced herself to me in that bar. Nice to meet you, quick chat — off I went. Every time I see her… “Hi, hi, how you doing!”
‘She thinks we’re best of mates and … I don’t really know her at all.’
Humiliating herself further, Keira loudly asked Kris if he thought it was ‘weird’ that she had entered the camp, ‘Cos, like, did you even know that I went on The Bachelor?’
His answer, when he was later quizzed by Nazeem Hussain:
‘Did you know I was on The Bachelor?’ Yeah, you told me on one of the five times I’ve ever met you in my life!’
