Much of NSW was battered over the weekend as one of the biggest storms in more than 40 years caused chaos and destruction.
As a result of the monster storm, high tides eroded huge areas of Sydney’s northern beaches – with some properties losing as much as 25m of their land.
Now, meteorologists predict another king tide is set to hit the million dollar homes already teetering on the edge of the ocean at Narrabeen and Collaroy.
The weather bureau is expecting the next king tide to peak at about 9pm tonight, ‘with a main window of threat between 6pm and midnight’, according to meteorologist Phil Perkins.
UNSW coastal erosion researcher Mitchell Harley adds: ‘It’s likely we’re going to see further damage to the already damaged properties from further coastal erosion.
‘They’re at critical risk of collapse.’
