Kim Kardashian has slammed Caitlyn Jenner for her negative portrayal of ex-wife Kris in her new memoir, The Secrets Of My life.
In an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show this week, the 36-year-old didn’t hold back when she was quizzed about the family drama.
“My heart breaks for my mum, because I feel like she’s been through so much and [Caitlyn is] promoting this book and she’s saying all these things,” Kim explained to the talk show host.
“I don’t think it’s necessary and I just feel like it’s unfair, things aren’t truthful.”
“Kendall and Kylie, that’s their dad and I think my mum’s been so respectful for so long and always wanting Caitlyn around and always wanting to have a great relationship with Caitlyn,” she added.
The backlash stems from claims made by Caitlyn that Kris knew about her husband’s struggle with gender identity during their marriage and “made her suppress her true self.”
But despite her criticism of the book, Kim confesses that she will always “love” her former father figure.
“That was my stepdad for so many years,” she said.
“She taught me about character and so much growing up and I just feel like I don’t respect the character that she’s showing now.”
“Tell your story, but don’t bash other people.”
“It’s just so hurtful,” she added.
