Kim Kardashian has decided to side against her embittered and angry mum Kris by moving to reconcile with her former step-parent Caitlyn Jenner – after Kim initially blacklisted her following her tell-all book The Secrets Of My Life.
In the memoir, Caitlyn paints a disturbing picture of Kim’s mum and Cait’s ex Kris as a dishonest money-hoarder – and Kim hasn’t spoken to Caitlyn ever since.
However a new report in US OK! magazine claims Kim wants to bury the hatchet, despite her mother’s fury. “She’s had time to think,” an insider tells OK. “She still appreciates everything Caitlyn has done for her and all they’ve been through together.”
On June 20, Kim spoke on chat show The View about Caitlyn, revealing a definite softening in her former blacklisting stance. “[Caitlyn] will always be my stepdad,” said Kim. “She stepped up when my dad passed away. I’ll never forget what she instilled in us as kids – she’ll always be a part of me.”
Kim has played something of a mediator throughout the Kardashian-Jenner feud and insiders tell OK she’s doing her best to be fair to Caitlyn. “Kim knows that Caitlyn has been adrift without her family for months,” says OK’s insider. “She sees that she’s always alone and feels terrible for her. It’s time to work towards forgiveness.”
The magazine points out that Kris has been very clear in that there’s “a two per cent chance” she’ll ever speak to Caitlyn again, but when it comes to the rest of the family, Kim “intends to lead them to a better place”.
