Proving he’s one of Hollywood’s most devoted husbands, Keith Urban has surprised his beloved wife Nicole Kidman with a truly breathtaking gift.
The singer is buying Oscar winner Nicole her childhood home in Hawaii – the perfect family abode for the loving couple and their two daughters.
Nicole, who was born in Honolulu and lived there until she was four, has often spoken of her love for the beautiful beachside home she grew up in – revealing how her family even gave her a Hawaiian nickname, which was the inspiration for a tattoo over Keith’s heart.
‘Nicole has shown Keith the house and told him that it brings back special memories of her father [Antony], who passed away two years ago,’ an insider told Star magazine.
‘Being able to go back whenever she wants would mean the world to her, so Keith is determined to make it happen.’
Real estate sources in Oahu tell New Idea that 49-year-old Keith ‘made the current owners an offer they couldn’t refuse’ to secure the multi million-dollar property, after deciding that he wanted to surprise Nicole with the sentimental gift.
Nicole’s 50th birthday is coming up and she’s getting harder and harder to surprise with presents,’ an insider close to Keith reveals.
‘A few weeks ago she was talking about the home and saying how much she loved living there, and that’s when Keith had the brainstorm.
‘He decided to buy the home there and then – it was an impulse decision, but he knew it would make Nicole so happy.’
Despite growing up in Australia, the 49-year-old actress has made no secret of her love of Hawaii, revealing it has a special place in her heart – and admitting that her family gave her the nickname ‘Hokulani’ when she was growing up.
‘It means heavenly star,’ Nicole told InStyle magazine. ‘That’s something no-one really knows. Well, Keith knows it. He calls me Hokulani sometimes.’
The insider adds: ‘When Nicole thinks of Hawaii she thinks of her dad Antony – she has such fond memories of spending time with him as a little girl there.
‘That’s what makes Keith’s gift even more special.’
