Just last month last month, fans were quick to note the tense war of words between Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban at the Sydney premiere of Lion.
Now, New Idea can exclusively reveal the real reason for the once-rock-solid couple’s red carpet row – Nicole’s increasingly close relationship with director Garth Davis.
According to insiders, 49-year-old Keith is said to be furious with his wife for her intense relationship with the handsome Aussie director.
Certainly, just moments after her public spat with Keith, Nicole appeared to be flirting up a storm with Garth, who she admits she ‘immediately connected with’ when they met.
‘Keith’s nose is totally out of joint and he feels completely humiliated over Nicole’s closeness to Garth,’ an insider tells New Idea.
‘She’s constantly gushing about him like he’s some kind of hero, and it drives Keith crazy because she’s always on the phone or texting him. It’s easy to see why he’d feel jealous.’
Throughout the movie’s promotional trail, Nicole could barely tear herself away from the curly-haired director, finding any excuse to touch, hug or snuggle up to him – behaviour that is said to have left Keith seething.
