British actress Keira Knightley has slammed the Duchess of Cambridge for glossing over the harsh realities of giving birth by posing for photos just hours after going into labour.
Contributing to Feminists Don’t Wear Pink And Other Lies, a collection of feminist essays, the 33 year old Atonement star wrote a graphic account of giving birth to daughter Edie, now three.
Keira slams Kate for making a public appearance in heels and with a full face of make up less than 10 hours after Princess Charlotte was born.

Describing watching the royal on TV, Keira, whose daughter was born the day before, wrote: ‘She was out of hospital… hours later with her face made up and high heels on. The face the world wants to see.
‘This stuff is easy. It happens every day. What’s the big deal? So does death, you s***heads, but you don’t have to pretend that’s easy.’
In contrast, the actress says her own experience of early motherhood was much more difficult.

‘I don’t wash for a month,’ she admitted.
‘Can’t get dressed. The hormones rage. I’m buffeted by silent storms more terrible than the battleground.’
