She’s been slugging it out on The Bold And The Beautiful since 1987, and Katherine Kelly Lang – who plays the romantically tortured Brooke – admits that often it’s far from glamorous behind the scenes.
In fact, sometimes it sounds like pure hell. ‘The most I’ve had was 90 pages [of dialogue to learn] in one day,’ the actress confessed to host Grant Denyer on a special edition of Family Feud.
That prompted the host to do some mental arithmetic and conclude that KKL had probably memorised somewhere in the vicinity of 300,000 pages of romantic dramas over her career.
And Katherine confesses that she ‘sometimes’ goes blank when it all gets too much.
Nonetheless, KKL says she is still loving the program and she says she has no intention of leaving anytime soon, adding that the soap’s infamous sex scenes have become more bearable as the years drag on. Not so for her co-star, Thorston Kaye, who plays Ridge II. He confesses he’s finding the romps traumatic.
‘I don’t care for it. I don’t like it,’ he revealed.
‘It might sound wonderful with these beautiful women, but it’s not – it’s awkward, it’s weird.
‘You’ve got guys behind the camera going, ”yeahhh!’’
“It’s not fun for me.”
