Kate Ritchie’s ties to her Home and Away days are still strong with the actress sharing a picture with former co-star Ray Meagher, AKA Alf Stuart.
Ritchie, now a Nova radio host, posted a picture on Instagram praising Meagher for being a top bloke.
“See this handsome old bloke? I’ve always known he was a bit of alright but how wonderful to see him this #australiaday be recognised with a Medal of the Order of Australia for his service to the performing arts as an actor,’ Ritchie captioned the image.
In November last year, Ritchie paid tribute to the show saying playing Sally Fletcher for 20 years was among the happiest of her life.
‘It’s really comforting to know that the show continues to go from strength to strength,’ she told The Daily Telegraph.
‘I don’t think I’ll ever find anything like that again. It’s a very special and unique place to work.’
She added: ‘It was such a great foundation, it taught me a wonderful work ethic. I just hope it’s nurturing all those young people, like it did for us.’
Ritchie is currently a radio host for Nova FM alongside Tim Blackwell and Marty Sheargold.
