Kate Middleton looked stunning in a Marchesa gown at a glittering State Banquet at Buckingham Palace. The Duchess of Cambridge was joined by Prince William as she attended the event, which celebrated the Spanish state visit by King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia.
The pink lace Marchesa gown featured a plunging neckline and semi-sheer flute sleeves. The chest exposure – while modest by most standards – came as a shock to many fans of Kate’s fashions – with the Duchess not previously known to ever wear and plunging neckline.
She complemented the couture gown with the Cambridge Lover’s Knot tiara, which was given to Diana as a wedding present from The Queen in 1981. She also wore the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Bandeau Necklace, a V shaped diamond and ruby collar ending in a diamond drop pendant.
It was Kate’s third time wearing the tiara.
Queen Letizia wore a stylish red lace off-the-shoulder gown for the occasion, while Queen Elizabeth wore a white silk gown with pale blue embroidery.
