The Duchess of Cambridge has revealed she has a green thumb…and she’s hoping to get Prince George and Princess Charlotte involved in her favourite past time.

Attending the Chelsea Flower Show in London earlier this week, Kate spilled ‘I’m just getting into gardening,’ to BCC Radio 2 host Chris Evans, before revealing that she’s teaching her children not to eat the poisonous foxgloves in the royal garden.

Touring the Radio 2 ‘Taste Garden’ Kate surprised when Evans offered her a cherry tomato, which she dropped on the floor by accident, before promptly picking it up and choosing to eat it anyway.

‘It’s delicious and sweet,’ she said. Chris later added: ‘I offered her a tomato. She ate it after she dropped it on the floor, it’s very good for you that. There were only three left. We had loads of them before.’

This isn’t the first time nature-loving Kate has admitted to a love of gardening. The 35-year-old has a kitchen garden at Anmer Hall in Norfolk, where she grows an assortment of vegetables.

She also recently revealed that the family keep five chickens at home, and Kate plucks fresh eggs from their henhouse.

We love how down-to-earth Kate is!
