It’s not often that Kate Middleton is caught unawares.
But these pictures prove that even when you’re the Duchess of Cambridge things don’t always go to plan.
The 35-year-old was snapped sharing an awkward moment with the Countess of Wessex at the carriage parade at Royal Ascot yesterday.
Sophie Wessex, 52, appeared to lose her footing as she climbed into the carriage and stumbled on top of a very surprised Kate.
Luckily, both women thought the incident was hilarious, with the pair bursting into laughter as the Duchess shot her arms out to break the fall.
Despite the chaotic moment, the mother-of-two was the picture of class, donning a white lace frock by Alexander McQueen.
Prince William and Queen Elizabeth also joined her at the event, with her majesty defying bookies predictions that she’d wear blue and opting instead for a youthful lime green outfit.
