TV personality Karl Stefanovic erupted in a fit of laughter on-air after misinterpreting co-host, Richard Wilkins’ statement.
The TODAY show hosts were discussing the items that they store in their holiday caravans when Wilkins made the following reveal.
“I’ve got the Michael Jackson wig, the lava lamp, I’ve got the little pussy on the carpet,” the entertainment editor said.
“You’ve got a what?” Stefanovic responded.
“It was a little pussy sitting on the bed,” Richard replied.
At that moment, co-host Lisa Wilkinson interjected to explain that “it was one of those plush toys.”
“It was a stuffed pussy, yeah,” Richard clarified, causing Karl to laugh uncontrollably.
As the segment continued, Karl was unable to say his lines, forcing Lisa to jump in and say his lines for him.
The special episode of TODAY was filmed live at Queensland’s Australia Zoo.
