Karl Stefanovic and his estranged wife Cassandra Thorburn are suffering yet another public blow as they begin to pack up their Lindfield family property after selling a few months ago.
This latest instalment comes after their relationship came to an end nine months ago. The Sydney Morning Herald have reported Cassandra discovered their marriage was coming to an end when she returned from doing the weekly grocery run only to learn her husband had packed his bags and would not be returning.
‘She was completely devastated and had no inkling that something was happening. Cass was blindsided. It took her days to even tell the rest of her family because she had no idea what was going on or why it was happening,’ a close family source explained.
Karl and Cassandra listed the house in the following months after the split which resulted in a sale for $3.8 million. Settlement for the property is reported to come through in early April which is around the same time the settlement for the $8 million Cremorne waterfront mansion will also come through.
It’s also reported that the former couple are only communicating through lawyers. Following their split Cassandra has twice been told her credit cards no longer worked, which apparently left her and the children “stranded” at Los Angeles LAX airport on a holiday in December.
It was also reported by the Herald that Cassandra was left flabbergasted after learning Karl had returned from a weekend in Brisbane, arriving at Sydney airport with his new girlfriend, Jasmine Yarbrough. The pair tried to avoid a photo together at all costs.
Karl reportedly declined the Herald’s request for comment.
