They work for rival networks, so Nine’s Karl Stefanovic wasn’t afraid to poke a little fun at Ten’s Waleed Aly lately.

The former Today show host, who was sacked in December, took to his Instagram account with almost a quarter of a million followers to joke that The Project’s Waleed was trying to have a look inside his head.

In typical Karl fashion, he wrote: “There’s just nothing to see in there Waleed. Move along pls.”

The Project host does not have Instagram so has yet to respond to the This Time Next Year presenter.

Karl’s post raised some eyebrows for its unusual timing as it comes amid rumours that his former Today show co-host Lisa Wilkinson is feuding with Waleed, Peter Helliar and Carrie Bickmore following Peter’s throwaway on the 10th anniversary of The Project.

Lisa and Karl are also rumored to no longer be on speaking terms, so it has been suggested that his friendly post about Waleed was a dig at his former co-star.

The Australian reported that comedian Peter “unwittingly” singled out Lisa as an “outsider” amongst his fellow co-hosts when he said, “We love having you on our show.”

The publication said this prompted the 59-year-old to shuffle “offset” just half an hour into the 90-minute broadcast.

“Diary hears she was not sighted again, either during the 90-minute-plus extravaganza or the after-party,” said the report.

On the other hand, Peter, Carrie and Waleed— who have been working alongside each other on The Project since 2015— reportedly stayed for the after-party and gave heart-felt toasts to each other.

“You are the show!” Peter gushed about Carrie, who has been a panellist on The Project since it’s inception in 2009.
