His voice shaking, Karl Stefanovic paid an emotional tribute to the victims of the Manchester terror attack during a segment on this morning’s Today Show.
Looking at photos of victims Saffie Rose Roussos, eight, Georgina Callandar, 18, and John Atkinson, 26, who all died in the bombing, the father-of-three clearly conveyed his devastation at the atrocity.
‘Just look at that face. Her whole life was ahead of her, everything that life brings is gone,’ the news veteran said whilst photo’s of Saffie flashed up on the screen.
‘It was so eloquently pointed out yesterday when parents go to a concert with a child they watch their child and not the concert, and all the joy that brings them.
‘The singing, the dancing, the freedom, Saffie won’t ever come home.
‘So many young faces, so many missing, so many dead and so many innocent.
‘It’s an attack on our most vulnerable.’
Saffie is one of 22 people killed and 59 injured in the Manchester Arena attack during an Ariana Grande concert.
