Angry Karl Stefanovic loses it on TV

The breakfast host did NOT hold back.

Media personality Karl Stefanovic has implored Australian politicians to “say yes to gay marriage.”

The notorious larrikin put his prankster antics aside on the set of the TODAY show this morning, slamming the government’s decision to push through with a postal plebiscite live on air.

“Here’s what I think,” the father-of-three began.

“A non-binding, non-compulsory postal vote is complete BS.”

Stefanovic said that there had been too-much taxpayer time and money on an issue he believes is a “no-brainer” and “should be decided in parliament.”

“Pull your fingers out in Canberra and get on with it,” he continued.

“Let’s look at this simply, confidently and compassionately.”

“Why are we stopping people loving each other in a world which should be celebrating love over hate?”

“Why does anyone have a right to stand in the way?”

The TV veteran claimed the decision was more about heterosexuals’ “fear and naivety” than the problem that gay marriage would pose to our country.

He also suggested the issue had become a case of “political football,” saying it was “less about the real issue, and all about the chest-beating and posturing of politics.”

“Vote in parliament,” he concluded his rant.

“Say ‘yes’ to gay marriage, and let’s live happily ever after.”

Taking to the show’s official Instagram account, fans were quick to praise the 42-year-old for taking a stand.

“Spot on Karl,” one user wrote.

“Good on you Karl! About time we just call it as it is,” penned another.
