Details of Kanye West’s shock hospitalisation have emerged, with reports claiming the rap star was handcuffed before being admitted to UCLA Medical Center ‘for his own health and safety’.
Responding to a medical welfare call, police on the scene were forced to handcuff the resistant rapper to a gurney in order to transport him to the medical facility, where he is currently being held under psychiatric evaluation.
The rapper is reportedly ‘spiralling out of control’, with the Daily Mail alleging he suffered a ‘psychotic breakdown’ – attributed to his gruelling tour schedule and deteriorating marriage with Kim Kardashian.
The shock events occurred just hours after the rap star sensationally cancelled the rest of his Saint Pablo Tour, with sources telling Page Six ‘workaholic’ Kanye ‘’often stays up and works for 48 hours at a time’.
‘He’s having a nervous breakdown,’ the source said. ‘He’s spiralling further and further out of control.’
Adding to the rapper’s woes is the strain placed on his marriage following Kim’s gunpoint robbery in Paris.
‘Kim is fed up,’ a source tells the Daily Mail. ‘They’ve been bickering constantly – she didn’t want Kanye to do the tour in the first place. She wanted him by her side as she recovered from her traumatic robbery in Paris.’
Spotted boarding a jet to New York prior to Kanye’s breakdown, Kim has yet to comment on her husband’s condition.
