Math is hard, okay.

Double-digit multiplication? Get outta town. Logarithms? Throw those squiggles in the too-hard basket where they belong. Budget? What’s that?

Celebrities, it would seem, aren’t immune to these struggles.

Los Angeles judge, Lawrence Riff has slammed former Spice Girl Mel B and estranged husband Stephen Belafonte for “living beyond their means”.

How far you ask? Court documents reveal the singer spends more than $9,000 a month on groceries and dining out plus $1,300 on entertainment expenses (movies, theme parks etc.)

If you’re like us, and live what celebrities may know as ‘within their means’, you might be clutching your Aldi bags with slow, burning rage, but stick with us.

It gets worse.

Belafonte has sought temporary spousal support in court, claiming he spends $2,300 a month on “groceries and household supplies”, $750 on his mobile phone (that $10 for an extra 1GB can add up), $2,000 in clothes and $3,000 on “entertainment, gifts and vacation”.

Mel B has shot down these expenditures, claiming they’re “exorbitant”.

Nevertheless, the same L.A. judge has ordered Mel B to pay Belafonte $40,000 a month in spousal support adding that the pair should have kept their living expenses capped to $51,000 a month.

“This is at substantial variance with both parties’ income and expense declarations, that is, both parties claim far more in monthly expenses,” the judge wrote.

Is now an appropriate time for the below?
