Jessica Mauboy was left in tears during a radio interview, but all is not what it seems.
The Aussie singer appeared on the Will & Woody show on KIIS FM, where she played a prank on co-host, Woody Whitelaw.

The 30-year-old pretended that she ended her recent engagement to Themeli Magripilis.
‘One very positive thing that’s been happening with you, Jess, is that you’re recently engaged which is super exciting,” Woody said to Jess. “Little fun fact, Jess, I’m actually a marriage celebrant. Just want to put that one out there that you might want to…’
Ready to put her acting hat on, Mauboy got emotional and replied, ‘Sorry, I thought your team would have told you maybe not to ask that question. It’s [the engagement] not happening.’
Clearly mortified, the radio host was quick to apologise.
“Sorry, I didn’t get told that,” he said. “I am so sorry. I had no idea.”
Jessica has spoken exclusively about her exciting engagement to boyfriend of 10 years, Themli Magripilis. The thrilling news, which has enraptured the singing star’s many fans, also came as a shock to the bride-to-be, it seems.
Arriving home at Sydney airport from a recent romantic visit to Europe, Jessica revealed that her engagement came as a big surprise.
‘It’s very exciting,’ Jessica told of her big news. ‘It was a big surprise; it was pretty crazy.’
Asked if she thought the big question might be coming, the singing star said she thought it might happen in the future, but not so soon.
‘I didn’t expect it at all, that’s for sure,’ she said. ‘In the future, but not so soon.’
On the subject of her big day, Jessica said she hadn’t had time to even think about the ceremony.
‘I haven’t, not quite yet,’ she advised.
‘It’s definitely not something I’m thinking about at the moment.’
