Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck have called off their divorce, 17 months after they announced they’d split, according to a report in US magazine Life & Style.
And what is said to have brought them back together was Jen’s relationship with another man and Ben’s uncontrollable jealousy.
A source reveals: ‘When Ben finally realised he could lose his wife to someone else he was determined to win her back.’
Ben and Jen, both 44, who have three kids, remained friendly after their split for the children’s sake but then Jen became close to a Hollywood exec called Jake.
‘It didn’t take long for Ben to find out about Jen’s new friend. He became insanely jealous,’ the source says.
For Jen though, the attention for her admirer, aged in his mid 30s, provided a much-needed ego boost.
‘She was flattered by the attention and began texting with him. They went on some casual coffee meetings.’
Jen even texted her mystery man when she and children, Violet, 11, Seraphina, seven, and Samuel, four, joined Ben in London as he filmed new movie Justice League.
Jen also received attention from other men including Bridget Jones actor Patrick Dempsey who has had his own marriage difficulties, a Malibu-based accountant and Jennifer Lopez’s ex, Caspar Smart.
But when the family was in London, Ben became determined to save their marriage and family.
‘He told Jen he would do anything to save the marriage.
‘Ben has been a devoted dad and is absolutely committed to the family.’
Ben, Jen and the kids are now planning to spend Christmas together at a ski resort in Big Sky, Montana, the magazine says.
