Actress Jennifer Connelly went to great lengths for a nude scene in her latest movie, American Pastoral.
In a recent interview with Kimmel Kimmel Connelly explained she had to wear a merkin for a more authentic look while filming in scene set in the 1960s.
Connelly added it was her makeup artist, Judy, who came up with the idea.
‘[Judy] says, “Okay, we’re going to have to make you a merkin”,’ Jennifer said. ‘For those of you who don’t know what it is, and frankly why would you know what it is, it’s a vagina wig, basically.’
Once Judy had traced Connelly’s pubic area, the pattern was sent off to a wig maker.
