Jamie Lynn Spears’ husband Jamie Watson gave an update on Maddie’s health following her traumatic ATV accident.
He took to Twitter to share an image which read “Believe in miracles,” alongside the caption: “Thank you to everyone for the prayers. Maddie is doing better and better. Thank y’all so much.”
Members of Maddie’s family have remained at the young girl’s beside since the incident, which saw the off-road vehicle she was riding flip over on Sunday, veering into a pond. Maddie was left submerged underwater for several minutes after her mother was unable to remove her from the restraints.
The unconscious child was resuscitated at the scene by paramedics and then airlifted to a hospital in New Orleans.
Two days later a rep for the Spear’s family released a statement confirming Maddie had been removed from a ventilator and was “awake and talking.”
“She is aware of her surroundings and recognises those family members who have kept a round-the-clock vigil since the accident,” the statement read.
