It’s horrible enough being fat shamed, but by your own father – live on air in front of millions of listeners!
This was the very real nightmare Jackie ‘O’ Henderson faced when her dad, Tony, shockingly said she’d ‘stacked on the weight’ and ‘let herself go’ during a recent segment for her KISS FM show.
During an informal chat live on air, the 41-year-old informed listeners of a rather sensitive conversation she’d had with her loose-tongued father a few days earlier.
Discussing his thoughts about Jackie allegedly eating too much during a recent trip to Fiji, Tony tried to justify his harsh words by saying; ‘It wasn’t irrelevant to your holiday, it was part of your holiday…consuming too much food.
‘You know what prompted this don’t you. She ran into a bloke in New Zealand who I built a house for years ago…and they were fans of Jackie years ago, and I said to Mark how is she and he wasn’t very complimentary, let me tell you that.
‘He basically said she had let herself go,’ he added.
To add further insult to injury, Tony then asked his daughter, ‘so why have you let yourself go?’
Ouch!
Seemingly shocked by his statement, Jackie responded; ‘Dad, that is just rude…You and mum are always having a go at me about my weight.’
‘You have to remember, no one ever says anything nice to fat people,’ Tony replied.
