Jacki Weaver and Anjelica Huston are locked in a war of words after Anjelica slated the Bird Box star’s latest film in an interview with Vulture magazine on May 1.
Academy Award winner Huston, 67, said she was unimpressed by the plot of Weaver’s upcoming movie Poms which tells the story of women in a retirement community forming a cheerleading squad.

“Quite honestly, I’m looking for movies that impress me in some way, that aren’t apologetically humble or humiliating like, ‘band of cheerleaders gets back together for one last hurrah’ you know,” Huston said.
“An old-lady cheerleader movie. I don’t like that kind of thing.”
Weaver responded saying she was “kind of disappointed” with the comments, before making an expletive remark in an interview with Vanity Fair on May 2.
“I just laughed. And then I said, well she can go f**k herself.”

The Australian actress continued by branding Huston’s words “mean and petty” and admitted she had been a fan of the Addams Family star until now.
Weaver, who starred in the acclaimed Silver Linings Playbook, conceded Huston was on the money about the lack of parts available to women past a certain age citing ageism in society as a whole.
But it was Weaver’s final word that may have proved most “petty” of all, Us Weekly reports.
The 71-year-old sniffed: “I would she [Huston] must be going through menopause, but she must have had that ages ago.”
