Sylvia Jeffreys and Peter Stefanovic have long been the golden couple of Channel Nine’s news team.
Now, the couple of two years are set to make it official after reporter Pete popped the question to the stunning Today newsreader.
Taking to social media on Monday morning, the pair both shared photos from the recent proposal, which took place in France ‘a couple of weeks ago’.
‘How’s this for a framer?! A couple of weeks ago Pete popped the question, and I said yes, OF COURSE!!! We’ve had the most wonderful time celebrating with great mates. We couldn’t be happier (check the grins) and so excited to share the news with everyone,’ Sylvia, 30, wrote.
Meanwhile, Pete kept it simple, writing: ‘Asked my missus to be my wife and she said yes.’
Pete is of course the younger brother of Today host Karl Stefanovic, so it was only fitting that Sylvia would call her soon-to-be brother-in-law and colleague shortly after the announcement to talk about the exciting news – revealing that Pete got down on bended knee in a picturesque vineyard.
‘The first thing I said to him was, “Are you serious?!”’ Sylvia laughed. ‘It was in milliseconds of him asking me the question that I said yes because of course I want to marry him.’
