House Rules meltdown: ‘She looks like lipstick stuck on a pig’

What one team did to drive another to utter despair

What could possibly happen to drive Fiona and Nicole literally into the arms of their former sparring partner Harry? And what could possibly be said to make the tough-as-nails duo storm off the show threatening never to return?

A toxic battle between the Victorian women and western Sydney couple Troy and Bec over the erection of a wall in Aaron and Danielle’s house erupts into some of the ugliest scenes ever shown in the series.

Troubled contestant Troy is heard saying, ‘She looks like lipstick stuck on a pig,’ apparently referencing either Fiona or Nicole – who are then seen seeking solace with Harry, who has in the past clashed with the feisty duo, but has now become an unlikely ally.

House Rules previews depict as exasperated Nicole confronting the Sydney team with terse, ‘I beg your pardon!’

‘They’re nasty, outright nasty,’ a sobbing Fiona is then heard to say, as Harry attempts to console her with a hug.

‘Don’t be upset, you’re tough,’ Harry says.

But Nicole is clearly utterly devastated about the vicious way the conflict over the wall has turned, sobbing,’ ‘They’re not just destroying our zone, they’re destroying Aaron and Danielle’s house.’

But just how toxic do things then become?

Advance footage from the show reveals the Victorian team packing up and leaving the work site, with Fiona saying, ‘I’m going home, I’m done.

‘I’m giving back everything that belongs to House Rules.’
