The butter-wouldn’t-melt-in-their-mouths twins have been favourites on this season of the reno show.
Avoiding conflict by any means – including climbing out of a window in attempt to sidestep zone wars – Andrew and Jono have been happy to play the role of everyone’s mate… until now, that is!
A vicious zone war between the WA lads and married couple Aaron and Daniella boils over this week during the semi-final charity renovation at Sydney’s Bezzina House.
‘You should hear the boys down there… they have turned into the girls,’ Daniella tells Kate, referring to eliminated villains Fiona and Nicole.
‘He’s turning into Nicole, I couldn’t believe it!’ New Idea can reveal that Andrew and Jono, both 27, have been harbouring a secret competitive streak, which has lain dormant up until this point in the series.
‘We’re very competitive people,’ Jono admits.
‘If we’re in a competition we’re in it to win and we’ll always give our all, right to the end.’
Andrew agrees, adding: ‘I think we have been competitive the whole time. Just because we didn’t get heated doesn’t mean we weren’t competitive.’
