Troy and Bec’s scoring disaster last night on House Rules came with an extremely bitter sting in the tail – with the western Sydney couple left utterly humiliated by the aftermath.
The couple, who are totally convinced their terrible score was the result of cheating – accusing Sean and Ella of deliberately down-voting them for tactical reasons – now have to spend the next week sleeping in a tent. And that’s a mighty small space to be fuming in!
‘The bonus room, for us, is a fail,’ said home owners Sean and Ella of Troy and Bec’s attempts at Scandinavian style.
‘Yeah, no surprises there,’ seethed a clearly furious Troy. ‘You must have known that we done that room.’
But Ella was having none of it, responding, ‘We had no idea. We thought it was [Fiona and Nicole]. It was quite mismatched, with the bedside tables. It felt like two different people had styled it.’
But Troy wasn’t giving in, responding, ‘It’s nordic. If you study it, that’s nordic.’
Bec, who is a big fan of Scandinavian style, was unconvinced. ‘We know nordic, it is us. We want a beautiful guest room for our friends to come and stay in, and unfortunately for us, we didn’t get that.
‘So that’s how it ended up being a fail.’
If that didn’t hurt enough, the final humiliation came in the form of a brutal assessment of Troy and Bec’s paltry score to date.
‘I know you think it’s tactical,’ said Ella of her and Sean’s low scoring. ‘But it’s 5 points, and that’s not tactical [to take away from you] anyway.’
Showing the depth of their bitterness, Troy and Bec refused to speak to the couple again. It remains to be seen if they make good on that threat.
