House Rules favourites Kate and Harry are furious with much-talked-about duo Fiona and Nicole, convinced that the wall they controversially left in their house after their renovation has effectively ruined their chances at scoring well in the 24-hour challenge – and potentially wrecking their bid to win the show!
With Kate and Harry’s time and renovation budget stretched to the very limit as they attempt to remove the hated wall in 24 hours, Kate is clearly angry, believing her chances at winning the challenge have been radically reduced.
‘We have $5000 to fix up this zone – and so far three quarters of it has gone to that wall coming down,’ she raged. ‘We have so many tradies inside working on the flooring and our laundry splash back; we’ve got two electricians in there.
‘That wall has cost us nearly all of our budget.’
The complications created by the wall have spun out of control, as the popular couple try to manage the damage caused by their house’s least popular feature.
‘Bringing down this wall is not just about bringing down the wall,’ Kate explains. ‘We have to re-lay the flooring, there’s lighting in that wall, there’s a light switch for the dining room … so that all has to be worked out by the electrician.
‘The girls have sucked all the money out of us, and we’re going to have nothing left to finish off our lounge room.’
Harry is particularly worried that the couple’s budget has now been so ravaged, that they won’t have a decent redesign on show to impress the judges.
‘It’s a design competition, so if we don’t have the items in the lounge room that hit the mark, it’s going to cost us our place in the competition. Thanks Fiona and Nicole!’
Keen for the last word on the highly controversial duo, Kate has this to say about the mess she’s been left with:
‘Our 24 hour fix up was a 24 hour stitch up by Fiona and Nicole!’
