Fiona and Nicole’s dramatic run on House Rules has come to an end, and the fiery redhead has surprised many with her final words.
Despite getting quite the dressing down from judge Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, Fiona struck a conciliatory note as she left the show – and even issued a public apology.
‘I’m really thankful,’ Fiona said, in direct defiance of perceptions she was ungrateful about the amazing renovation of her formerly ramshackle country house. ‘I am the luckiest woman in Australia.’
But it seems she’s struggling to cope with the guilt of leaving teammate Nicole with nothing but memories after the completion of the show.
‘Nic walks out of this competition with nothing,’ Fiona admitted. ‘I walk out of it with a brand new house. So probably for me the disappointment is I wanted to repay Nic.’
The women earlier earned a tongue lashing from LLB, who felt that they really blew it by renovating their own house out of spite towards arch enemies Troy and Bec, rather than any real inspiration.
‘I think you did the wrong zone for the wrong reasons,’ he complained. ‘A really rubbish thing to do… it was like walking into a family argument.’
