Home and Away star Orpheus Pledger has opened up about how his controversial storyline on the Aussie soap. 

Orpheus’ character Mason Morgan and Raffy Morrison, played by Olivia Deeble, are generating some serious buzz, as he explained to Sydney Confidential on Friday.

Mason, a former medical student, is secretly making his own medicinal marijuana in an attempt to help his little sister Raffy’s epileptic seizures, fogginess and inability to focus.

A student at Summer Bay High School, Raffy’s older siblings wouldn’t allow her to be part of a medicinal cannabis trial, leading Mason to make matters into his own hands.

“He couldn’t see any other way and so alternative measures were taken,” he explained to the publication.

“The storyline is absolutely controversial. It is a hugely current discussion but the feedback I have had has been really positive.”

According to Daily Mail, 10 medicinal clinics in Victoria were announced last year, the first of their kind in Oz, however, the product is expensive due to its exclusivity. 

The website claimed, “Australian patients spend $370-a-month for legal cannabis treatment.”
