Just when the Morgan family think they’ve put the worst behind them, they’re dealt another crushing blow this week.
The atmosphere between the siblings is tense and they’re finding it hard to see eye to eye, albeit for different reasons.
Brody (Jackson Heywood) is fighting for his life, trying to kick his drug habit to the kerb. He and Justin (James Stewart) are slowly trying to reconnect after a turbulent few months. While Brody is trying his best to stay clean, deep down he doesn’t trust himself.
However, just as Justin thinks he’s smoothing things over with one brother, problems arise with his other brother Mason (Orpheus Pledger).
Furious with the way he’s handled things with Brody, Mason blasts Justin to sister Tori (Penny McNamee). He’s so angry with Justin, Mason plans to move out of the family home.
Mason has been posting ads to rent a room and their half-sister Raffy (Olivia Deeble) is distraught at the thought of losing another family member. Mason tries to make it clear he’s only moving out, he’s not leaving them forever, but Tori still begs him to stay.
Later on when Justin is home, Tori tries to get her brothers to make peace. But Tori’s attempts are wasted as Justin and Mason continue to argue. Mason tells Justin he’s only acting this way because he’s angry about Phoebe (Isabella Giovinazzo) leaving, and he shouldn’t take it out on everyone else.
Before Justin can fire back, Tori spots a card from Raffy’s cousin Hope (Jessica Falkholt). It’s a 14th birthday card and it hits Tori – they’ve forgotten Raffy’s birthday! Raffy explains she didn’t want to tell them about her birthday because everyone is so mad at each other.
Justin, Mason and Tori decide to momentarily put aside their issues and focus on making Raffy’s day as special as possible. They set about making a cake for her while she’s at school for them to surprise her with when she gets home.
But when Raffy gets home, she doesn’t care about the cake – she thinks everyone will continue fighting and go back to being awful once they finish celebrating and she’s had enough.
Justin tries to apologise for how he’s been acting, and Tori has a realisation. After years of being all cooped up together, now they’re out of witness protection they probably need a break from each other.
Will this once tight family unit find a way to make it work together or are they all going their separate ways?
