Christie Hayes is moving into radio after i98 in Wollongong announced the former Home and Away star will be joining their new breakfast team this year.
It’s the first radio gig for the actress, who along with appearing in the soap for 7 years, has also worked on over 40 films.
In a statement to the media, i98 Program Director Tony Aldridge said that the down-to-earth star will undoubtedly be a hit with the show’s audience.
“I am so thrilled that we have signed Christie Hayes. Not only is she an Illawarra girl, but already has an affinity with our audience through her 7 years on Home and Away. Christie is fun, bubbly, full of life and wow…she can talk! We are so excited to showcase such fresh radio talent in Christie and welcome her to the i98 family.”
The mother-of-two will start on the Marty, Christie and Crammy show January 16th.
This isn’t the first time a former star of the show has gone radio-side, with Kate Ritchie part of the highly successful Kate, Tim and Marty drive show on the Nova Network
