Gorgeous newcomer Mackenzie (Emily Weir) has shown a keen interest in Dean (Patrick O’Connor) from the moment she arrived in town.

“She tells him the real reason she came to town,” says Emily. Safe to say, Dean is rendered speechless by the revelation. Mackenzie has been desperately trying to get close to Dean, propositioning him for a surfing lesson, but the River Boy is wary of her motives in the Bay.
“Dean’s not sure whether to trust Mackenzie and believe what she’s telling him, and is also questioning her entire motivation for being in the Bay,” says Emily.
Bella (Courtney Miller) is also suspicious of Mackenzie after she spots her flirting with Colby (Tim Franklin) on the beach. “There’s been a war of wit and words between Mackenzie and Colby from the moment they met,” says Emily. “On the surface, it seems that they really don’t like each other, but yet they’re clearly intrigued and there’s an intellectual battle going on between them.”
