He was a familiar face in big screen hits like Beaches, Awakenings, The Pelican Brief and the Home Alone series throughout the eighties and nineties, but actor John Heard appeared to go largely unrecognised as he filmed Imprisoned in Puerto Rico this week.
The actor, who is probably best remembered for his role as dad Peter in the Home Alone films, was seen enjoying some of the local cuisine before heading back to the set to work with co-star Laurence Fishburne.
Still working steadily despite an arguably reduced profile, John has said of his career, ‘I guess I went from being a young leading man to being just kind of a hack actor.
‘I dropped the ball, as my father would say. I think I could have done more with my career than I did, and I sort of got sidetracked. But that’s OK, that’s all right, that’s the way it is.’
