It’s a relationship that has fascinated Australia, and now Paul Hogan is tipped to come clean about his tumultuous marriages to his first and longest love, Noelene.
Sources close to the Aussie legend reveal that he’s in discussions to do a ‘no-holds barred’ TV interview about their relationship, which spanned more than three decades. He and Noelene married in 1958 before divorcing in 1981, only to remarry a year later until 1990.
It’s believed the in-depth exposé will detail the day he announced he was leaving Noelene, now 76, and their five children for his Crocodile Dundee co-star Linda Kozlowski – and the catastrophic fallout from his highly publicised affair.
‘My life’s been interesting enough to make a book, but I thought it would be more interesting to tell it,’ the 77-year-old told Herald Sun.
‘Some things get lost in print. And I’m getting old. I’m well into the third quarter of the game, if I make the final quarter.’
While Hoges’ inner circle are said to be ‘shocked’ by news of the public tell-all, it seems the actor’s motives for the exposé are crystal clear.
‘Noelene and Paul have probably had the most explosive relationship in Australian showbiz history,’ a source close to Paul tells New Idea.
‘Paul wants to set the record straight on a relationship that spanned a good deal of his life, and for people to know there was a lot of love between him and Noelene, which resulted in five great kids.’
‘Paul’s getting on a bit now – both he and Noelene are nudging 80 – and he wants his final words on the marriage to be good ones.’
