'He's no Ivan Milat': Lawyer says murderer shouldn't spend life in prison

The lawyer for a man who killed his ex-girlfriend Daniela D’Addario, and filmed himself sexually abusing her corpse, has suggested his client shouldn’t spend the rest of his life in prison because worse crimes have been committed.

Josaia Vosikata’s lawyer Paul Edmonds acknowledges the seriousness of the crime, but added, ‘This is not a worst case of murder’.

‘He’s no Marcus Rappel [the killer of another Canberra woman Tara Costigan] or Ivan Milat.’

D’Addario had ended their three-month relationship before Vosikata broke into her Canberra apartment and strangled her, and filmed himself having sex with her body.
