Members of the Muslim faith are welcoming Lindsay Lohan to Islam after she posted a cryptic message on social media.
The actress deleted all photos on her Instagram account over the weekend and changed her bio to “Alaikum salam” which translates to “and unto you peace.”
Many fans have taken the message to mean that the 30-year-old has converted to the Muslim faith, and are turning to Twitter to express their support.
Although The Parent Trap star was snapped holidaying in the Middle Eastern city of Dubai over the New Year period, she is yet to confirm whether in fact the rumours are true.
Reports of her converting to the faith first began to surface back in 2015, after she was photographed holding a copy of the Quaran while undertaking community service in Brooklyn.
But Lohan later explained the sacred book was simply a gift from friends.
“My very close friends, who have been there for me a lot in London are Saudi and they gave me the Quaran and I brought it to New York because I was learning,” she said during an interview on the Turkish talk show Haber Turk.
“It opened doors for me to experience spiritually, to find another true meaning,” she added.
“This is who I am.”
