The 40-year-old appeared to cry as Kwong opened up about the tragic loss of her unborn son, Lucky, with her partner Nell.

Throughout the episode, the celebrity chef recalled the heartbreaking moment when Nell cried “for 10 hours straight” after her water broke five months early in 2012.

“In the end, we felt blessed he lived for six days… inside Nell, alive, and then he let go. But the six days was profound,” Kwong told Do. “We got to be with him, we got to mother him, we got to say goodbye to him.

“I said, ‘I really love feeding you.’ I said, ‘I want you to know that your mother is the most amazing person in the world and that you are very, very loved.’ I said to him that, ‘I want you to know that we have always loved you,’ and I promised him that Nell and I would always look after each other.”

Tim Lai – who replaced fan favourites Angie and Yvie last season with his sister Leanne – burst into tears loss as he was reminded of his own loss.

A year ago he made the decision to have a baby with his long-time partner, Mark.

Unfortunately, their surrogate lost the baby just before he was set to announce the news to loved ones.

“I went through something just as hard,” Tim confessed tearfully on air as his sister comforted him.

“I was a father… I had the high, I’d been told that it was successful. It is the most heart-wrenching thing I’ve ever had to go through.”

Malaysian-born Tim and Leanne are known for their upbeat nature and wonderful sense of humour, which made the moment even more gutwrenching for viewers.
