Glee actress, Lauren Potter, has confirmed her engagement has been called off.
The 26-year-old told PEOPLE of her heartbreak at being single again after previously accepting a promise ring from her childhood friend-turned-boyfriend Timothy Spear in a beachside proposal last August.
“It hurts,” Potter says, admitting she was in the midst of talking to TLC’s Say Yes To The Dress and a wedding dress designer when Spear ended their relationship over the holiday period.
“After we got married I wanted to wake up and see him make breakfast for me.”
“I loved him so much.”
But according to her mother Robin Sinkhorn, it was fame that spelt the end for the pair.
“He did not like the publicity,” she explained.
“It was overwhelming.”
Despite being unlucky in love, Sinkhorn says the star is currently in a good place and has regularly been hitting the gym and meeting with a job coach in an effort to find work outside of Hollywood.
“She looks adorable,” she says.
“This is the first time i’ve seen her happy in months. She’s looking forward to the future.”
