Ginia Rinehart, the youngest daughter of mining magnate Gina Rinehart, is reportedly set to wed her former bodyguard.
Ginia’s fiancé is a former SAS soldier and bodyguard. He is only known as Simon. The Rinehart’s previously employed Simon for personal protection.
The coupling comes after Ginia’s previous engagement to Ryan Johnston, the son of Beach Boys singer Bruce Johnston. The wedding was quietly called off in 2013.
Ginia and Simon are set to tie the knot at Qualia resort on Hamilton Island in front of an exclusive guest list. Reports suggest that guests include director of Fairfax Media Jack Cowin, Agriculture Minister Barnaby Joyce and property developer Imelda Roche.
The Qualia resort on Hamilton Island sits right alongside the Great Barrier Reef. The resort has 60 pavillions to accommodate guests. The resorts previous guests include pop sensation Taylor Swift.
Ginia’s older brother John will not be attending. The Sydney Morning Herald reports that John ‘is yet to forgive Ginia’.
The family has been in dispute over a multibillion-dollar family trust for several years.
In 2013, a court ordered Gina Rinehart to hand over privileged documents relating to the trust to her two eldest children. Gina was never invited to John or Bianca’s weddings.
Ginia is the only child to side with her mother on the matter, going against her three siblings. In 2013, Gina publically called Bianca and John ‘selfish’.
Gina Rinehart’s first two children, John and Bianca come from her first wedding to Englishman Greg Hayward. Her second two children, Hope and Ginia come from her second marriage to Frank Rinehart.
It is currently unclear if Hope or Bianca will be at the wedding, which will reportedly go ahead in the next coming days.
