Ghostbusters II actor Henry ‘Hank’ Deutschendorf has died aged 28.
According to a medical examiner, the star – who was best known for playing Sigourney Weaver’s son Baby Oscar in the 1989 flick – hung himself at his home in Escondido, California on June 14 after battling schizoaffective disorder.
Radar Online reports that he was found by his twin brother William, who also appeared in the hit movie alongside Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd and Rick Moranis.
William shared the news with fans on social media, explaining that at the hands of his mental illness, which saw his sibling suffer from hallucinations, delusions, depression and mania, Hank “fought for his life every day.”
“Since his diagnosis, he tried to everything to alleviate the symptoms,” William wrote.
“In his daily life, he used supplements, meditation, strict dietary plans and exercise regiments. His daily disciplines weren’t enough to allow him to live the life he wanted to live.”
Together, Hank and William ran a martial arts school in the San Diego area.
