The star's hidden tragedy is exposed

George Michael sadly died “broke and alone” at the age of 53 after blowing much of his $130 million fortune on booze and drugs, claims a sensational report in US magazine Globe.

The Wham! singer had only $3,000 left in one bank at the time of his heart failure death on Christmas Day, when there had been $500,000 in 2015, claims the outrageous report. Over the years, his company, Nobby’s Hobbies Holdings, had “lost millions.”

George – who the publication claims had “lost his career, lover, fortune and good looks” – had been forced to use the musical income he once intended for his various charities to pay living expenses instead, according to the story.

The Globe reports that the “I Want Your Sex” crooner had resorted to drugs and alcohol to deal with his broken heart in the wake of his 2009 split from businessman Kenny Goss, and had “ballooned into a 284-pound bloated wreck.”

“The bust-up left him feeling very fragile and insecure. He never got over it,” says the source.

Although George developed a romantic relationship with hairdresser Fadi Fawaz in 2011, he died alone at his home in Oxfordshire, England.

Globe’s source says George had become a recluse “battling booze and a spiralling heroin addiction,” and had been hospitalised “several times recently” and had a stint in a Swiss rehab.

George – who “struggled with being gay” – had a few run-ins with the law including that infamous 1998 arrest when he was charged with “engaging in a lewd act” in a public restroom in Beverly Hills.

“He lost his looks, the love of his life and his career. He had nothing left to live for!” Globe’s source says.
