Kenny, who was with George for almost 20 years, says that the stars escalation from small-scale marijuana use to smoking up to 25 joints a day, and abusing crack and party drugs, eventually tore them apart, wrecked the stars health and sent him into a tragic spiral that no one could save him from.

I would find drugs and flush everything down the toilet, thinking, If I just get rid of it he won’t get more, Kenny told The Sun. He was absent-minded, so would just think he’d lost them.

I saw him smoke weed all the time but never hardcore drugs. I heavily disapproved so he wouldn’t be around me in that state.

He shielded me and his family. He had another group of friends he’d do that with.

Georges escalating drug use ended their relationship, but Kenny says neither of them ever really got over it, and George kept a room for Kenny in all of his houses around the world.

Describing Georges tragic decline, Kenny recalled, I don’t think George necessarily thought he’d die young, but every time I looked into his eyes I thought, My God I’m losing you, what is going on.

With Georges health declining rapidly with his drug use, Kenny admits many in the stars inner circle thought it was only a matter of time before his body gave in.

‘I’d say, “You’re a beautiful man. Remember the man you were when I met you, people love you”, he told The Sun.

‘He didn’t like to be around people in general but in the last couple of years he rarely saw anyone.

‘I’ve cried thinking, “Why didn’t you take better care of yourself”?
