Britney Spears was virtually unrecognisable at a recent pre-Grammys party in LA, according to a report in US magazine Star today.
Those closest to the 35-year-old pop star say her less-than-glamorous looks are the result of too much stress in her life, both personal and professional.
“Britney’s scary meltdowns from 10 years ago are always in the back of people’s minds,” a source tells Star. “Now they fear she’s on the verge of being overwhelmed again.”
Britney’s demanding schedule includes her residency show at Planet Hollywood Las Vegas Resort & Casino, and she’s announced she’s returning to the studio to work on a new album.
Her balancing act also includes being a mum to sons Sean, 11, and Jayden, 10, and making time for her boyfriend, Sam Asghari, 22, who has sparked concern.
“The fear among her friends is that he’s just using Britney for money and the limelight – and she’s going to get her heart broken.”
Britney was an “emotional wreck” after her niece, Maddie, 8, [whose mom is Britney’s younger sister Jamie Lynn], was seriously injured in an ATV crash near the family’s Kentwood, Louisiana property on February. Fortunately, Maddie has recovered.
