The boyfriend of the late George Michael has expressed his ‘shame’ at not being able to save the legendary singer’s life.

Taking to Twitter, Fadi Fawaz shared an emotional poem he had written about George’s tragic death on Christmas Day.

‘I find myself in hell, Now I feel ashamed, one Christmas Day,’ reads one of the lines.

According to friends, the hairdresser is struggling to deal with George’s death.

‘Fadi feels ashamed about not being able to save George, he misses him so much,’ an insider told The Sunday Mirror.

‘There is a lot of emotion coming from him at the moment and this is a medium in which he can express himself.’

The news comes after several cryptic messages from Fadi over the past few weeks. In one, he even claimed he was struggling to put food on the table: ‘The icon partner still struggle to buy milk and water six months later,’ he wrote.

‘About to drive and I have so little petrol and let you know if I get to my destination or not.

‘And the truth is I couldn’t afford to buy him a flower to put next to his grave or light him a candle on his birthday.

‘I loved my partner very much and for six years I looked after him to the point where I lost my friends my life and some of my family.

Fadi concluded that the ‘whole truth…just the way it happened’ will be told ‘soon’.

A coroner ruled in March that George died aged 53 on Christmas Day as a result of heart and liver disease.
