Ellen DeGeneres’ eight-year marriage to Portia de Rossi is on the rocks and she’s heading for an expensive $345 million divorce reports, according to a report today in US magazine In Touch.
The publication reports that the couple has been arguing over Ellen’s demanding ways and Portia hating that she’s over being a “trophy wife” with no children,
“They’ve had heated debates about Ellen’s controlling behavior and her anger issues,” the source tells the publication. “They fight over Ellen’s drinking, her lavish spending – mostly on real estate – plus her busy work schedule and how she doesn’t want Portia to work.”
Ellen, 58, maintains that things with Portia, 43, are rosy in the public eye, but the source tells In Touch the relationship is crumbling.
“It’s not the peaceful and tranquil home life that Ellen portrays,” spills the source.
Ellen and Portia “always seem to be on the verge of a breakup over one crisis or another, but now a divorce is imminent,” says the insider, who adds that the talk show queen is worth an estimated $345 million.
“A good chunk of Ellen’s fortune is at stake.
“This could be one of Hollywood’s most expensive, ugliest and dirtiest divorces ever.”
The source concluded, “Ellen’s obsession with controlling Portia’s personal life and career, and then Ellen’s insistence on not starting a family – that’s the biggest hurdle they can’t seem to overcome. Portia wanted children and Ellen didn’t.”
